MUSIC

Music has always been a passion. I started playing the guitar in 1976 and immediately formed a band. The groups went through a variety of name changes - Mother Earth, WiderVision, Colour-Me Pop, Hey!, The Waltons. I made a few records in the late '70s and early '80s while at college, and then I became a professional musician in 1982, joining the Thompson Twins for a brief spell. The full story of my early musical career is recounted in my autobiography Thompson Twin: An '80s Memoir, published by Time Warner in 2000.

I gave up music completely in 1987 and hardly touched an instrument for 10 years. Then in 1997 I started recording again. I bought a cheap analogue 8-track and started to write new songs. Since then the studio has evolved into something a bit more sophisticated and I've written and recorded some 100 songs.
